Overview

Editing photos, drawing and preparing graphics often means paying for proprietary software. GIMP, the GNU Image Manipulation Program, is a free and open-source image editor that covers those tasks with tools for retouching, painting, layering and image composition. GIMP is developed by the GNOME project and is used on Linux and Windows, with its interface customizable through GTK themes and a dedicated stylesheet.
