Overview

A crowded macOS menu bar makes it hard to find the icons you need. Ice is a free, open-source menu bar manager for macOS 14 and later that lets you hide and show menu bar items, so only the ones you care about stay visible. Ice offers an "always-hidden" section, a drag-and-drop layout editor, and a search panel for finding menu bar items quickly. Hidden items can be revealed by hovering over the menu bar, clicking an empty area, or scrolling, and they can be rehidden automatically. Ice also adds appearance options such as tint, shadow, border and custom shapes, along with hotkeys for common actions. It is a desktop application distributed as a download or through Homebrew, and it is useful for anyone with a busy menu bar, including MacBook users whose notch hides items. Ice is licensed under GPL-3.0.
