joplin

Joplin is a free, open-source note-taking and to-do application built to manage large numbers of notes organised into notebooks. Notes are written in Markdown, can be tagged and searched in full text, and can also be edited with your own text editor. Notes exported from Evernote can be imported with their formatting, attachments and metadata, and plain Markdown files can be imported as well. Joplin works offline first, so all your data stays on your device and remains accessible without an internet connection. When you want to sync, notes can be encrypted end to end and synchronised with services such as Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive or Joplin Cloud. Plugins and themes let you customise the app, and a web clipper saves pages and screenshots from Firefox and Chrome. Joplin suits people who want a private, portable note archive they control, and it runs as a desktop or mobile application on all major platforms.
