Rectangle

Managing windows on macOS usually means dragging them by hand to the edges of the screen and resizing them one at a time. Rectangle replaces that with keyboard shortcuts and snap areas: drag a window to an edge, a corner or the top of the screen, and it resizes and moves to half, quarter, third or maximized positions when you release the mouse. The app also covers tiling windows in rows or columns, cycling through stacked windows, assigning mouse side buttons as shortcuts, and ignoring apps that already use the same keys. Actions can be triggered from a shell or script with the rectangle:// URL scheme, and hidden preferences can be set from Terminal. Rectangle is for macOS users who want faster window layouts without a heavy tiling manager. It requires macOS 14 or later, with older versions supported by earlier releases, and is installed from the website, GitHub releases or with Homebrew Cask.
