servers
From public sourcesReference MCP servers from the Model Context Protocol steering group, showing how to give LLMs secure, controlled access to tools and data.
Overview
Large Language Models need a safe, standard way to reach tools and data sources. The servers in this repository are reference implementations of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that demonstrate how to expose files, Git repositories, web content, memory and time utilities to an LLM client.
The collection includes Everything, Fetch, Filesystem, Git, Memory, Sequential Thinking and Time servers. Each one is built with an official MCP SDK in TypeScript or Python and can be launched directly with npx or uvx, then configured into a client such as Claude Desktop.
These servers are educational examples for developers building their own MCP servers rather than production-ready solutions, and they carry their own security safeguards to review. The code is licensed under Apache 2.0 for new contributions, with existing code under MIT.
