Overview

Jellyfin users on Apple devices often want a streaming app that feels native instead of a web wrapper. Swiftfin solves this as an open-source video client for the Jellyfin media server, written in Swift and SwiftUI so it looks and behaves like a first-party Apple app on iOS and tvOS. Playback can use Swiftfin's native player or its VLC-based player, which helps maximize direct play of a wide range of media formats. The documentation covers library support, the differences between the two players, and the minimum supported OS versions. Swiftfin is intended for people who already run a Jellyfin server and want a client for iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. It is distributed through the App Store and TestFlight and licensed under the MPL-2.0. Because it is an open-source project, its code is available for review and contribution through the Jellyfin community. The project is maintained under the jellyfin organization on GitHub. Swiftfin is not a media server itself; it requires a running Jellyfin instance to connect to. It is a client only. No further claims are made here beyond the README.
