Educational institutions and training providers need a single place to publish course materials, distribute assignments, track student progress and manage grades. Canvas LMS is an open-source learning management system developed and maintained by Instructure Inc. It gives instructors and students a web-based environment for organizing course content and learning activities in one shared platform. Canvas LMS is released under the AGPLv3 license, so anyone can study its code, learn how modern learning management systems are built, or run it themselves.
