Overview

Editor.js is a JavaScript library for building block-style content editors. Instead of a single rich-text area, users add and arrange separate blocks such as headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes and images, and each block type is provided by its own plugin tool. This keeps the editor extensible while the core stays small. The editor saves its content as clean JSON rather than heavy HTML markup, which makes the data easy to sanitize, store and render on any platform, including Web, iOS, Android and AMP. Developers initialize an editor instance with the tools they need and call editor.save() to get the content as a Promise that resolves to the saved data. Editor.js is aimed at front-end and full-stack developers who need a flexible content editing component inside their own applications. It is distributed under the Apache-2.0 license and can be installed from npm or loaded from a CDN.</reasoning_effort>
