Overview

IT teams often lose track of who holds which laptop, when it was bought for depreciation purposes, and how many software license seats are in use. Snipe-IT is a free, open-source IT asset management system built to keep that information in one place. It is a web-based application built on Laravel 12, so it runs on a web server and is accessed through a browser. It can be installed on Linux, macOS or Windows, or deployed from a Docker image. It includes a JSON REST API that third-party tools use to sync assets and to manage inventory. Snipe-IT is released under the AGPL-3.0 license and is aimed at IT operations staff who need to manage hardware and software assets across an organization. It is actively developed, with frequent releases, a public live demo, and an active community on Discord.

Snipe-IT - Open Source Asset Management System

This is a FOSS project for asset management in IT Operations. Knowing who has which laptop, when it was purchased in order to depreciate it correctly, handling software licenses, etc.

It is built on Laravel 12.

Snipe-IT is actively developed and we release quite frequently. (Check out the live demo here.)

[!TIP] This is web-based software. This means there is no executable file (aka no .exe files), and it must be run on a web server and accessed through a web browser. It runs on any Mac OSX, any flavor of Linux, as well as Windows, and we have a Docker image available if that's what you're into.
