Overview

CodeMirror is a code editor component for the web, and this repository is its central development hub. It contains the issue tracker and the scripts that clone, install, build and test the many packages that make up the editor system. Rather than being a library you import, this repository is aimed at contributors. Running node bin/cm.js install fetches the sub-packages, installs their dependencies and builds them, while npm run dev starts a server that rebuilds on changes and serves a demo and browser tests on port 8090. It is intended for people who want to develop or debug CodeMirror itself. If you only want to use the editor in your project, install the separate packages from npm instead. Setup requires Node.js version 16. Detailed documentation is available on the CodeMirror website.
