Many ecommerce platforms are hard to change once a business has complex pricing, catalogs or sales channels. Teams end up forking the core code or stitching together several separate commerce services to cover B2B, D2C and marketplace sales. Vendure is a headless commerce backend written in TypeScript on Node.js, NestJS and GraphQL. It models the catalog, orders, stock, promotions, channels, payments and customers through one extensible core. Developers extend or override services, entities and strategies through stable plugin contracts instead of patching the source. The typed GraphQL Shop and Admin APIs serve any frontend, and the admin dashboard is built with React and TanStack. Vendure suits engineering teams building multi-channel, multi-region or multi-currency stores. It runs on PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB or SQLite and can be self-hosted anywhere Node.js runs, including Docker and Kubernetes. The core is released under GPLv3, and plugins can use a license exception.
