Rocket.Chat

Organizations with strict data protection requirements need team communication that they control, but many chat tools send messages through third-party clouds. Rocket.Chat is an open-source, fully customizable communications platform written in TypeScript that lets teams chat in real time with colleagues, partner companies and customers, while keeping data inside their own infrastructure. The platform supports self-hosted, cloud and air-gapped deployment through Docker, Podman or Kubernetes. Security features include identity management, end-to-end encryption and role and attribute-based access control. Teams can use asynchronous and real-time messaging, voice calls and federation, and extend the workspace with apps from the Rocket.Chat Marketplace or the open-source Apps-Engine. Rocket.Chat is released under the MIT license and is aimed at IT administrators, developers and governments, defense and critical infrastructure organizations that need a private, auditable alternative to hosted chat services.
